Sophia Chance is a Player Care and Welfare professional with over thirteen years of experience working across elite sport, education, and custodial environments. Her background combines frontline mentoring, restorative practice, and welfare focused support within high pressure settings.
Her work is centred on supporting individuals through challenge, change, and transition, with a strong emphasis on wellbeing, boundaries, and long term personal development.
Professional Background
Sophia has worked extensively within HMP Wandsworth and HMP Brixton, providing one to one mentoring and transition support. During this time, she co created and delivered Kids Matter, a programme supporting fathers to rebuild relationships with their children through accountability, communication, and positive behavioural change.
She has also supported young people across Pupil Referral Units and schools throughout London, developing strong experience in safeguarding, behavioural support, and working with family systems.
Alongside this work, Sophia has supported professional athletes, musicians, and VIP clients within elite sporting and entertainment environments, including managing complex logistics and private engagements with discretion and professionalism.
Player Care Approach
Sophia’s approach to player care is calm, relational, and clearly bounded. Support is shaped around the individual rather than a fixed programme, and may be one off or ongoing depending on what is most helpful.
Her work focuses on providing confidential, structured support that recognises the pressures of performance led environments while keeping the individual at the centre.
She works alongside agents, clubs, and other professionals, offering an additional layer of care while respecting existing roles and professional boundaries.
